Q: How did you come up with Lisbeth? Brand/idea.
A: "Lisbeth Jewelry really began organically. I have always been creative and enjoyed designing things in my spare time. I was working in fashion before the line launched and at the time there were not a lot of local jewelry designers. I originally created Lisbeth Jewelry to fill a void in my own closet. I was always on the search for simple, classic, jewelry with a twist that was of high quality, so i decided to create my own line."
Q: Where do you get your inspiration from season to season?
A: "I am inspired by so many things all of the time. I never get my source of inspiration from one thing. I am always sketching or jotting ideas down. I often get inspired at the strangest times when I am least expecting it. I keep all of my ideas and then usually have a theme or a concept for each season that I bud the collection around. Spring 16 was inspired by the desert for example. I also find just playing around with new designs inspiring - they always morph into something different than you originally intended."
Q: How would you describe a "Lisbeth Girl"
A: The Lisbeth girl is classic and modern with but has a bit of an edge. Her aesthetic is clean and simple but not to perfect.
Q: Was being a Canadian made brand something that was always important to you?
A: Yes, of course. I am so proud to be Canadian and have a Canadian based business. There really are so many fantastic female creatives here ad I am proud to be a part of that group. I think it is so important to support each other and our independent retailers, so I'm just happy to be working in this community.
Q: On average how much time goes into each piece?
A: Oh gosh, that's hard. I have never been asked that before or even thought of it. It is such a process for each piece - from concept to finished product. I have never counted the hours, but I will say it takes hours and hours and months and months for a collection to come together.
Q: You have an amazing Instagram, you have some adorable animal pics? Do you have pets?
A: I have two babies, a dog Charlie and a bunny Papier. They are the most precious things to me. They are the best of friends and warm my heart every single day. I would be lost without them.
Q: What would we find you doing in your spare time?
A: Well, I'm currently living in Toronto and I'm often biking around the city exploring the different neighborhoods. There is so much to do here it blows my mind! I love going to the Beaches on a beautiful day. I definitely frequent the AGO, The National Ballet and all the amazing arts the city has to offer. I also love searching through the vintage stores around the city, there are so many good ones here!
Q: Tell us 3 things about yourself?
A: I love to cook and bake. I am a major animal lover. If I wasn't a jewelry designer I would probably be and interior designer.
