Glow Baby, Glow

There is no denying it, your skin takes a beating during the Winter. If you're like me and you refuse to hit the tanning beds, then you're also feeling a bit pale and downright blah. This week on the blog, I wanted to share a few tips & tricks to keep your skin hydrated and glowing. Obviously one of the best ways to keep your skin healthy is a well balanced diet and plenty of fluids. Drink lots of water and get that beauty sleep, girl! You don't want to spend all your cash on these skin products, all to have it not work because you're dehydrated and malnourished. Having a hard time falling asleep at a decent hour? Well, turn Netflix off, put your phone down, take a warm bubble bath, read for about 15-20 minutes and you should be drifting off to La La land in no time! Ready to save your skin? Check out these fantastic products below....

If you're looking to brighten up your skin without wearing too much make-up or to prevent wrinkles and other damage to your face, Philosophy's Time in a Bottle is the way to go! I've always been a fan of Philosophy's products, but this serum really stands out. I first heard about this product from Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere, and just reading about her experience/results, I thought I'd give it a try. It's honestly worth the money. I feel like there's a bit more glow to my skin (even in these Winter months) and it's really evening out my blemishes. I have sun spots from a lot of sun intake as a kid/young adult and I'm shocked that this serum has diminished those spots already. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again and will keep this in my daily regiment. You should definitely give it a try.

I'm not sure if I'm alone on this one, but when it comes to skincare, I tend to focus a lot on just my face so the rest of my body isn't getting enough attention. The first place I notice a little bit of dryness is my feet and legs. As soon as I see/feel this, I know it's time for a quality bubble bath. If you're looking for a luxurious soak, something very spa-like, my go-to bath salts and bubble bath are by Lollia. The combination of the two is both relaxing and soothing. As soon as I hop out, I make sure to moisturize with this heavenly hand cream and this stress relief body cream by Aveeno.  Go ahead, pour yourself a hot cup of Chamomile tea for the bath, you'll be relaxed and feeling rejuvenated after a hard day.

Without a doubt, a good old fashioned mani and pedi can really add up, especially if you treat yourself to these services every month. To me, it's a necessary expense. I can never quite reach the same results as I do at a spa or nail salon, it's as if a three-year old painted my nails, and that's just not cool. LOL. Greatest thing about going to a salon, is I always feel so put together once I've had it done professionally. Looking for a new place to get polished? Try Cures Studio in Liberty Village, best pedicure (dry pedicure) I've ever had! Incredible, long-lasting results.

On a night where I'm staying in, I always plan on using a mask of some kind after I've wrapped up cooking/eating dinner and ready to relax. By no means should face masks be a part of your daily routine, but its important to spoil your money maker from time to time. I use this Rose Face Mask at least once a month. It provides deep moisture and brightening properties so that I keep that dewy glow, even in the Winter. Using products like this can really make you look younger, and this one happens to be SUPER affordable. Winning!

Watch the appearance of eye bags and dark circles disappear! The new Magic Eye Rescue by Charlotte Tilbury is an incredible rescue remedy that will slow down the look of aging, YAY! I just sprung for this at Holt Renfrew and I couldn't be happier. I recently just jumped on board with this line, and it's my absolute favourite! I also purchased the Film Star Bronze & Glow Palette, and I've never received so many compliments! It's quite flattering if I say so myself. Although it's a more expensive make up line, I don't even think about the total when I'm ringing up my new goodies. Charlotte's that talented!

Soft lips are a must! No one wants to kiss cracked, chapped lips, it's definitely not becoming. Winter can be quite harsh on your kisser, so try out this sweet mint lip balm by EOS. It's 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. I literally carry it everywhere I go. I even have one on my nightstand so I can apply it right before I go to sleep. You know what else is right beside it? A huge glass of water. Remember, hydration is the key to soft, healthy skin.

"I created this product because I wanted to give skin a fresh, healthy, no-makeup look with a soft hint of color that evens and enhances without hiding the skin.”

— Laura Mercier

Mission accomplished, Laura! I do not step out of the house without having this product on my face. I always hated foundation because it made my face look cakey, I just think it's too heavy. This lightweight tinted moisturizer gives me the coverage I need and a bit of colour and a healthy glow. It also has SPF 20, perfection!
