FTC Christmas Card

For ladies who work in fashion and retail, our Christmas is anything but commercial. In fact, we avoid a lot of the materialistic aspects of the holiday and really focus on family and the true meaning of Christmas. We’re all about making new memories and being good to others, thinking less about ourselves and what’s under the tree.

As many of you know, Ashley is from out West so she's always had a white Christmas. This year, she decided to vacation in Florida with her family. Although she’s missing festive decorations all covered in snow, she’s really loving the warm climate and people in FLA. If you’ve been following along on our Instagram or hers, you would’ve seen her soaking up the sun in Naples. Jealous? Um, me too. But, this boss babe is more than deserving of some beach time.

I’m happy to report she hasn’t wasted any time down south. Ashley, Dylan and Eddie have been at the beach and pool everyday, the adults have been enjoying cocktails, wine and cuban food and even took part in a boozy bike ride one afternoon. Ash and Dyl literally tossed some beers in a basket, grabbed their sunnies and biked around town. Perfection. And when I heard about Eddie learning to say ‘boats’ at the beach, I was ready to hop on the next flight. The Mitobe family is having an absolute blast and I couldn't be happier for them. Check out some of their vacay photos below and be sure to follow along on Facebook and Twitter as well. Who knows...we might have an online sale coming up! ;)

For me, I think this will be the most special Christmas yet. Not only is it my daughter's first Christmas, but our last in the home that I grew up in. We plan on continuing a few traditions from years past and creating some new ones now that Sloane has arrived.

A new tradition I want to introduce is reading Sloane The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve.

I read to this kid a lot, and watching her attempt to understand what I’m saying and the expressions on her face as she looks up at the page is something I will cherish forever. Super excited for my family to gather around for this.

One tradition that our family will keep alive, even with a newborn in the house is playing road hockey on Christmas Day. Indulging in great food and wine is always nice, but going out and shooting pucks with my mom, dad, sister, husband and dog as the snow falls is the greatest. We always have a lot of laughs while we’re out there, my family is a tad on the competitive side so sports always keeps everyone engaged. This year, Christmas Eve is going to be a bit different. Instead of me making a five course meal, we plan on ordering Chinese food and playing board games with Christmas movies playing in the back. As a new mom, I’d rather spend time catching up with people instead of spending the entire evening in the kitchen. For our big meal on Christmas Day, us ladies are all pitching in so I really look forward to goofing around with them and learning new recipes with a glass of wine in my hand.

Last week, we took Sloane to the Toronto Christmas Market in Distillery, that is something Ryan and I will take her to every year. Ever since we started dating, we’ve always made our way down there. It automatically gets us into the Christmas spirit and it's a cool spot in the city. Have you tried the mulled wine there? Game changer.

What are some of your holiday traditions? We'd love to hear from you on our social media or the comments page.

Thank you so much for reading along, we hope you have the happiest of holidays and an amazing 2018! We appreciate all of your love and support and could not do what we do without you! We’re lucky to have all of you in our lives.

Ashley & Kayla xoxo
