Two Part Series: Cold Weather Beauty & Fashion Must-Haves

Since I started working for Ashley, I have learned how to be a more independent professional; not relying on others to take the lead or critique me in my performance on a daily basis. I'm not sure if most or any of you know but for the first 6 1/2 years of my career, I was a Sports broadcaster. I was a TV/Radio Host and Reporter, and worked for Sportsnet 590 THE FAN, Sportsnet and Leafs TV. Drastically different from the fashion world to say the least. When you're in the spotlight every day, the bosses typically feel the need to guide or essentially analyze every move made by the on-air talent. It's suffocating.

I can't even begin to describe to you the freedom that Ashley has given me and what it has done for me as a professional. My fav girl boss has allowed me to grow and give myself the confidence to step out of my comfort zone. I no longer need or crave constant feedback, validation or even company. We're comfortable to be honest and open with one another, and for all of this, I thank her.

Among the millions of things that I value that Ash has taught me (and many other people), is STYLE. She has fashion & beauty down to a T. Sometimes she'll tell me that she slept about 15 minutes the night before, ran a million errands, all while taking care of her brand new bundle of sunshine, and STILL looks amazing! It's honestly very comical.

That is why I was inspired to share 10 fashion & beauty must-haves for cold weather months that will keep you looking and feeling your best. Because even in the worst of conditions, you can look glamorous and cry on the inside like a winner haha. So grab that coffee, take a seat and explore the products and clothing Ashley and I cannot live without. This week, I'm sharing my top five, so please stay tuned for Ashley's next week. Talk about a cliffhanger ;) Enjoy ladies!

The holidays are right around the corner, so that means enjoying a cocktail or two, indulging in comfort foods and sitting around the fire with loved ones. Cold weather is prolific for drying out the skin, so to keep my face hydrated and glowing, I use the entire Peony Line by Fresh. I know we're all guilty of indulging in sweet & salty foods and festive boozy beverages at Christmas, and it can be harsh for the body and often causes breakouts. This cleanser, toner and moisturizer will help you avoid breakouts and it also protects against environmental aggressors. To me, it's definitely worth the splurge. My friend Lisa, who's a makeup artist told me about this product a few months ago, and I don't think I'll ever try anything else.

Confession. I used to frequent tanning beds when I was on TV because HD is not kind to pale gals ;) I'm glad I snapped out of it, those tanning days are over! I want to be healthy and I just think it's too much of a risk, even though it's nice to look bronzed throughout the Winter months. If you're with me, Anastasia's Glow Kit is the next best thing. You can use as much or as little as you want and creates a gorgeous shine that'll last from day to night. Remember ladies, healthy is hot.

Living Proof's Dry Volume Blast is magical. It puts an extreme amount of volume and texture in your hair without weighing it down. I don't have the thickest of hair, so this was a game changer, plus the scent is to die for. Jennifer Aniston is the owner of the company, and who doesn't want similar hair? Um, yes please!

Ladiesthis isn't your first rodeo, you know our Canadian Winters can be rough and it gets OH SO CHILLY! Make sure you have reliable, warm outerwear for those long commutes home and Winter walks. There's nothing worse than being under dressed in cold, snowy weather. On the Fashion truck, we carry RELLA, a fast expanding company that has a head office in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and a design office in Montreal. They combine mountain lifestyle with city vibes, and we can't get enough. I would dress head to toe RELLA every day of the Winter. It's honestly so stylish, keeps you warm and is very affordable.

Want your body and feet to feel silky smoothe? Exfoliate with LALICIOUS Sugar Kiss Sugar Scrub. I always keep this scrub right in my shower, to remind me to use it everyday. It helps to take off dry skin, and an added bonus? The coconut oil hydrates the skin after exfoliation. Perfect combination. I've been using this product for a year or so and see results whenever I use it. It's one of those items you always keep around, when I run out, I buy it again almost immediately.

What do you think of my favourite beauty & fashion products? Give us some feedback on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages, we'd love to hear your thoughts! See you here next week when Ashley dishes on her top five cold weather must-haves. You won't want to miss it!

Cheers,
